Privacy Policy

Kit and Caboodle ("the app," "we," "us") is a craft supply inventory and project suggestion app. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and what stays entirely on your device.

No account required

Kit and Caboodle does not require you to create an account, and does not collect your name, email address, or any other personal contact information to use the app.

Information stored only on your device

The following is stored locally on your device and is never sent to us or anyone else:

• Your craft supply inventory
• Saved and "made" projects
• Your wishlist
• Notification preferences

If you delete the app, this information is deleted along with it.

Anonymous device identifier

The app generates a random identifier on your device (not tied to your name, email, or Apple ID) to support two optional features:

• Project ratings — if you rate a project, your star rating is associated with this anonymous identifier so you can't rate the same project twice.
• "I Made This" photos — if you choose to upload a photo of something you made, it's associated with this identifier and reviewed before it can appear in the app's public Community Gallery.

Uploaded photos are stored on our servers (via Cloudflare) and reviewed before publication. You can request removal of a submitted photo at any time — see Contact Us below.

Camera use for label scanning

If you use the "Scan Label" feature to help fill in a supply's name, the photo you take is processed entirely on your device using Apple's built-in text recognition. That photo is never uploaded, stored, or sent to us.

AI-generated project suggestions

When you request new project ideas, a general description of your craft supplies (such as "worsted weight yarn, knitting needles") is sent to our server, which uses it to generate suggestions. This description does not include any personal information about you.

Purchases

Subscriptions and pattern purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment information.

Notifications

Seasonal reminder notifications are scheduled entirely on your device. No data about your notification preferences or activity is sent to us.

Third parties

We do not use third-party advertising or analytics services. Data described above (ratings, photos, and AI suggestion requests) is processed using Cloudflare (for hosting and storage) and Anthropic (for generating project suggestions).

Children's privacy

Kit and Caboodle is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
